4 Steps to 4th of July Tablescapes

Step 1.  Theme: Settle upon your theme for your table. Some people want the obvious Star Spangled look for their 4th of July table, but others will choose to keep the color theme and give it a twist. Lobsters and crabs, who doesn't love them?

Step 2: Centerpiece: Your centerpiece can be a piece of art in and of itself, or it can be a collection of related pieces. We love how simple this one with lanterns is, as tablescapes can sometimes look cluttered.

Step 3: Fill in as you go along!  See in the photo above how they kept it simple and used confetti? That's perfect for a last-minute, no-fuss table for your picnic.  If you don't have a chest full of treasures, you can keep it simple by buying color themed glasses, plates, and napkins in solid colors.

Step 4: Consider buffet-style!  If you are stressed about how many perfect place settings you have, go for a table that will present all your goodies. This is also perfect for large crowds.  The focus is on the food and drinks, and it's easy enough to get a theme going with a few straws, pinwheels and candies.  The banner is certainly optional, but looks easy enough from scrapbook paper and wrapping paper.

Just have fun with it!  The important things are not the things at all!                         ~Natalee
