One of the benefits of working with my team is that we all work together seamlessly to please our customers, almost as though we are all of one mind at all times. I suppose it's like a well-run family ... when the main goal is for the common good it all just sort of flows. One side effect (I cannot bring myself to call it a downside) of not having my hands on every single order, is that I can sometimes forget what products we carry. Is it bad to admit that? I never want to take for granted the job that our incredible staff does to keep our customers happy while I am busy reading Indian Captive: The Story of Mary Jemison aloud to my children, but I also love to keep myself steeped in the beauty of the coastal furniture and decor that we have worked so hard to find.
Occasionally, when I'm not blogging or getting the word out about our products and passions via Pinterest, Google+ or Wanelo, I take the chance to peruse our inventory and play the customer. I am a shopper at heart, and I have at least 10 imaginary houses all decorated with StylishBeachHome.com's expertly curated items. I have a modern beach house in Miami, a french country cottage in the French Riviera, a mansion in Carmel-by-the-Sea, and a beach bungalow somewhere on the east coast. (Apparently, I am still hunting for the perfect location there.) My heart swells with pride when I see all the beautiful coastal items that (mostly) my partner, Cindy, and I have curated to make beautiful beach homes come alive with sea life, or help those of us who are land-locked surround ourselves with the comforts of the ocean and sea.
